A Marquee Wedding on the Grounds of Ashford Castle
This wedding gets a lot of attention from new brides. The light, freshness and undeniable girliness of the aesthetic ticks both classic white wedding and more colourfully contemporary boxes. Working with our gorgeous bride Shauna (I mean, look at how she rocked that Marchesa gown) was a treat - she has a strong aesthetic sense and was quite involved in the process, while trusting in the experience of our team to make it happen at the level she was aspiring to.
Working with two of my favourite style suppliers, Patsie Co and Keady Row, to create the key aspects of the style concept, I worked tones of dusty pink, taupe and lilac, over a starkly white base. The great thing about using a bright white tablecloth, is that it allows you to keep accent shades at the palest on their spectrum, but still achieve an aesthetic that has sharply modern contrasts. And I love this. I’m all for romance, but it has to have edge.
Using our custom extra-long taper candles in minimalist candlesticks, the already light-filled marquee set in the grounds of The Lodge at Ashford Castle, became a twinkling wonderland. Whimsical elements like the bespoke donut wall, bow knot napkins and gorgeously chic cake cart, kept what was a very sophisticated event, airy and joyful.
